How to prepare your child for returning to school during COVID-19
Everyone has been working very hard to ensure a safe reopening of schools for staff, students and their families. Most students will be looking forward to going back to school and will feel happy and excited. Some may feel a little anxious about returning. That’s a normal response at a time of change. Most will settle back in soon once they get used to the new rules and routines. For more information and a downloadable flyer click the link below.

A message from Richie & Helen Connor
Just a short message to say a most sincere “thank you” on behalf of Helen and myself to the pupils, staff and community of Shanahoe for your good wishes and kindness on the occasion of my retirement. We were overwhelmed by the tributes and presents and I was truly humbled by it all. The gestures of kindness ranged from generous presentations on behalf of the Board of Management, Parents Association, Parish Council to many individual gifts and kind words. Truly overwhelmed but greatly appreciated and a testament to the kindness and warmth of a wonderful community. These remarkable qualities were exemplified by retired school caretaker Mrs. Hiney who in her golden years walked to the school, gave me a card with a scratch card (on which I won €4!!), wished me luck before setting back up the hill. A wonderful lady. Children and parents continued with such undeserved acts over the following days including an incredible retirement cake by Maresa Melvin.
It was almost a shame to attack such a work of art but we overcame that trepidation to indulge!
I have met my successor and I have no doubt he is the perfect fit for the great staff, children and community of what is a very
special school family and for which I. wish him well.
Thanks again and every good wish to you all. Rath Dé oraibh go léir.
