The children from the junior room created these beautiful leaf people for their art class last Friday. They went out and picked leaves around the tress and then created these really lovely art pieces. Brilliant work all.
The Children from 1st and 2nd class had a real adventures day as they explored Emo Court. Collecting leaves, climbing trees and feeding the ducks. They displayed a lovely nature table after their tour. Last week the 5th & 6th class made grass ropes with Mr. Connor, School re-opens this Friday, September 1st.Can you believe it? Another school year is upon us. A big welcome to all the children and especially to the new juniors as they get ready for their big day. Junior infants will arrive at normal school time 9.20 an for the first two weeks will finish at 12.00.
The teachers assigned for School year 2017/2018, Juniors - Gillian Burnell, 1st-2nd - Miriam Brickley, 2nd-3rd - Kris Cahill, 5th-6th - Richard Connor and Learning Support/Resource teacher - Hazel Scully. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Hazel to our school. On our last day for Summer recess we had a Potato Tasting day picked from the school garden and boiled in a large pot over the open fire, served with scallions from the garden and a bit of butter . They were so tasty......... 5th and 6th class with Mrs. Cahill gave a very entertaining performance for the residents in Abbeyleix Hospital. They sang, danced, and played a few songs. They had a great audience that thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment. Thanks to the staff and residents. |
